Music lovers pick three great Canadian unsung seasonal songs
In previous instalments, Bruce Cockburn picked Wade Hemsworth’s “The Blackfly Song” for its depiction of the Canadian north; big-band leader Christine Jensen tapped the Oscar Peterson Trio’s “Place St. Henri,” noting its evocation working-class Montreal life; and Venezuelan-born Toronto singer/songwriter Eliana Cuevas selected “Jerusalem” by calypso star David Rudder, which she called “one of the greatest but least-known Canadian songs.”
